Frequently Asked Questions

If the answer to your questions are not listed below, please consider booking a Discovery Call so we can speak one-on-one.  I would love to get to know you!

As a functional Medicine Practitioner, my focus is on the individuality that is YOU!  No two clients are the same, and each of them should be treated as such.  I focus on the regular person who struggles to feel better when everything is stacked against them.  Conventional Medicine has failed them, and they are desperate to feel healthy again.

Functional Medicine is so amazing!  No matter what issue you struggle with, the body still needs what it needs.  We work together to find what YOUR BODY  is screaming for, and we learn how to give it.

Sometimes, the names we give to diseases aren’t as important as understanding what’s really happening in the body.  For diabetes, doctors often prescribe medications like Metformin or insulin and recommend avoiding sugar. This helps control blood sugar, but usually means you’ll need medicine for life. Functional Medicine looks at healing the pancreas—the organ that helps control blood sugar. Often, processed foods damage the pancreas, making it harder for the pancreas to keep blood sugar levels in check.  Giving insulin can make the pancreas “lazy” by telling the body it doesn’t need to work as hard, which can make recovery harder over time. Sometimes, symptoms that look like diabetes are caused by something else, like parasites. The main idea: Diabetes isn’t a life sentence. If you give your body what it needs, it can often heal itself. It’s important to find out what’s really causing the symptoms, so you might be able to stop taking medication in the future.

A discovery call is a 45‑minute conversation where I get to know you—what you love, your goals, and your health journey. This call is meant to answer your questions and help you understand how Functional Medicine may help heal, prevent, or reverse the issues you’re facing. I will be honest, share helpful tools, and take time to understand the unique factors that make you you. There is no one‑size‑fits‑all approach.

During this call, we may talk about:

  • Any medications you’re currently taking
  • Past trauma or stress that may still affect you
  • Your eating habits
  • Your family dynamics and how changes may impact them
  • Your personal goals and where you want to go

As we talk, we’ll explore lifestyle changes that could improve your health—sometimes dramatically. Change can be hard, especially when it takes consistency, but that’s why I’m here. Support may last 6, 12, or even 18 months, depending on your needs. I may offer suggestions that feel unconventional, but I’ll explain the “why” behind them. Having gone through this myself, I can show you how meaningful and doable change can be.

After our discovery call and our initial session (90-120 minutes), I’ll use everything we discussed to create a personalized plan just for you. This includes reviewing specialized lab results, identifying possible nutrient deficiencies, and looking for clues that reveal what your body needs to heal.

I will spend dedicated time studying your case and supporting you—acting as the detailed, investigative partner many people wish their doctor could be. Depending on your goals, we may take a slow and steady approach or move more quickly.

We’ll meet regularly: weekly at first, then gradually shifting to twice a month or once a month as your needs change. Between sessions, you’ll have direct access to me through text and email. You’ll also receive first access to weekly training, tips, and information not offered publicly. Meal planning can be included, though small monthly adjustments usually are sufficient. And likely repeated lab work to monitor and to ensure we are on the right track.

Functional Medicine does not diagnose or label you. Instead of treating symptoms, we look at what your body, mind, and spirit may be missing so you can truly heal. This holistic approach examines every part of your life that may be affecting your health.

While conventional medicine often uses medications that manage symptoms without addressing root causes, Functional Medicine focuses on understanding why issues are happening. Even if you don’t have major symptoms, we can look at genetics and lifestyle to prevent future disease.

Knowledge is power—let’s learn together so you can live longer, stronger, and healthier.

You’re welcome to join our community. Subscribers get weekly updates with new blog posts, YouTube videos, information on specialized tests, conditions Functional Medicine can help with, client stories, and special offers on classes or videos.

I’m here for you, no matter where life takes us. Most of our communication will happen from the comfort of your home—even in your pajamas. Even if I’m traveling or my family moves, you can still reach me by text or email.

You can also book a free discovery call anytime, even if you’re just curious and have questions. I’m happy to help and want you to feel supported in your health journey.

Yes! You can subscribe even if you’re not currently on a plan. My goal is to share helpful, accurate information that empowers you to better understand your health. Each week, you’ll receive updates with practical tips and insights about how to live in a healthier, more natural way.

You don’t have to follow everything I share—everyone is unique, and not every suggestion works for every person. My purpose is to educate, support, and help you discover what works best for you.

Functional Medicine can be very effective, but results depend on your commitment and willingness to make changes. It focuses on understanding what your body needs and identifying habits, stress, trauma, or long‑term patterns that may be affecting your health.

I’ve personally gone through this process. It took me years to recognize that I needed help, even though I was tired and in pain. Ignoring the signs didn’t make them go away — and I learned that healing takes time, patience, and honesty with ourselves.

Some issues develop over many years, so it may take time for the body to recover. Functional Medicine is not a quick fix. It’s a long‑term approach designed to help your body heal, restore balance, and prevent future problems.

When we give the body what it truly needs, it can repair, regenerate, and move toward better health.
